Yepp !! Those who are still running SCCM 2007 R2 + subsequent versions can still Manage Windows 8.1 and Windows 2012 R2 with their Versions of SCCM . However there are some restrictions  Like you cannot do OSD .

  • Desired configuration management

Prerequisites


To apply this hotfix, you must have System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 2 installed.

Restart information


You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this update.

Note We recommend that you close Configuration Manager Administration Console before you apply this update package.

This update does not replace any previously released update.

  1. Do you need to install this only on the managment point or also on DP's?
    Need to upgrade or fix the sccm client on 8.1 systems with this hotfix?
